A holiday isn’t a holiday if there isn’t time to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures. It’s our policy to produce crew members to carry out the campsite duties on camping tours so there’s no need for you to cook or wash dirty pots and pans. On camping tours you’ll have a little dilly bag’ with your own plates and utensils to neat behind your meal, but our crew do all the difficult work for you. Simply set up your tent and appreciate the sights and sounds of the night as you sit around the campfire, recapping the highlights of the day with your fellow travelers. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of the meals prepared by our cooks below what are sometimes firm conditions. Three meals each day plus morning tea and snacks are included in the price of your tour (unless otherwise specified see tour itinerary for details). The island abounds with superb scenery and historic fortresses, temples and monasteries. Throughout your tour you will explore both the natural wonders and the island’s intriguing culture and history. A day of whale watching off the coast at Marissa will be a highlight of your tour. Blue and Sperm Whales plus pods of dolphins are regularly seen in these waters. For those interested in botany, Fri Lana is a land of plenty. The island features diverse habitats, including wet zone tropical forests and shrub lands. On a boat specifically designed for whale watching, we’ll travel the seas off the south coast of Fri Lana, obvious to be one of the best locations in the world to see Blue Whales and Sperm Whales. After breakfast today we’ll head to Bundala National Park, which is healthy obvious for its birdlike. We also look for monkeys, crocodiles, deer and elephants. Behind a very premature breakfast, we’ll take a packed day excursion to Yale National Park to view some of the local flora and fauna. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch during our time at the park. This morning we travel to Udawalawe, looking at the automatic history of the area as we travel. This means we’ll have a fracture from the heat and humidity experienced in the rest of the country. Behind lunch we will have time to visit the Victoria Park and have a wander around the town earlier enjoying a lofty tea at the Historic Grand Hotel.
